Fees

I am thinking of accepting an offer by a buyer to purchase my item. But I want to know exactly what I will get after all the fees to see if it is worth selling it now.all these percentages and fees are confusing me a lot of times and they vary. The offer is $920 for a handbag plus $28 postage.thanks.

From the Help Page

about $127.33

There are plenty of reliable fee calculators around... for example https://www.ebayfeescalculator.com/australia-ebay-calculator/

Are you sure you want to sell something worth that much on ebay? There are so many scammers these days 😞

I do deal with transactions like this because I sell designer items. I always use PayPal and only transact through eBay so it is safe and protected 🙂

Hope it all works out for you. Personally, I wouldn't take the risk after reading about so many scammers on these forums. But I wish you all the best and good luck with your selling 🙂

How do you use Paypal when eBay pays into the bank account you nominate when you sign up to Managed Payments?

PayPal has not been a thing for sellers in almost 6 years

And sorry, but there us very little protection for sellers, since if a buyer says something, no matter how untrue, eBay will almost always side with them

I agree about taking a huge risk to start with

Even more so after your reply

You've obviously not signed up to managed payments... because if you had, you would know that you NEVER use PayPal.

Your payments will be sent to your verified bank account - not your PayPal account... and you have no control over which payment method your buyer selects.

Surely you don't consider it as "using PayPal" if your buyer uses Afterpay (as an example).

While I agree with other posters about taking a risk selling high priced designer items in general,  presuming it's the LV bag and the buyer's in Australia... while not impossible,  I think it's unlikely you'll be scammed if it' s being sent via  the authenticators.
