Why can’t my buyers send me a request for an invoice when purchasing multiple items?

 

EBay has been full of glitches (worldwide) since Sunday…..are you usually able to combine postage?

Mine can't because I offer volume discounts.

No, I always have this issue, even though I’ve checked all the settings.

I’m not sure if this is still ‘a thing’ but buyers can also set their preferences to immediate payment…..can any buyers confirm?

If it's  always  been  a problem,  have another look at your settings.

 

But if it's only been in the last  couple of years, this  can happen  when  the following is ticked under:

 

Buyer Management   > Buyer Rules 

 

✔   Require all buyers to provide a payment method before they make an offer 

 

It originally started on the US  site with eBay trying to enforce autopay on  all auctions and offers which created problems with  the usual combined shipping.

 

If it's ticked, untick it  >  Save changes   and see if it solves your problem with your future sales

 

If they are trying to buy using a mobile phone, they will not get the "request total" button.  Ask them to use a desktop or laptop computer.
