Don't we all just LOVE all this EXTRA time we continually have to spend on learning to RE-use or Re-learn how to use these sites.

It never ends does it !

Like we all have days to spend on technology NOT !

I'm a carer for my mum & just finding time to list is hardwork let alone learn new tricks !!

There will probably be a number of users that will just stop using it as it's gone from a very simple system to one that takes a bit more mucking around,:O

It does look like it's going to take a bit of time to get it all sorted,X-(

I preferred the one from a few years ago,:-)

C one you have mail,:-D

BTW, If you use the IMG thumb code, not the HTML thumb code, and have the link back option selected, the image displays on the webpage instead of taking the person to the Photobucket website to view the image.

tried this today - but all it did was put a URL code in the description not the picture

 - I was in HTML not standard - when I clicked back to standard

I've just put a listing up with all the codes entered to show how they work for me.

Everything there is ticked.

Tazz, are the IMG thumbs displayed for you - I'm just seeing code, and the IMG thumbs aren't working for me either (I tested them in Turbo Lister and an online HTML test bed, and that also just displays code).

I looked for a solution online, and found a post on another forum saying there's a problem with the code, and showed a fix, but the fix didn't work, either.

I don't know enough to troubleshoot and/or offer a solution, I can only guess. I know the IMG thumb uses java script, which was recently updated but no idea if the problem is with that or still with the code itself.

I usually only see/use things like [IMG] tags etc in forums that use BBcode (which is a simplified version of HTML), so I googled for the HTML code itself that will create an image thumb which enlarges on the page, but the one I found wasn't explained clearly enough for me to be confident I was applying it correctly (unless it worked :^O ).

Does anyone have an older, working Photobucket IMG thumb code (for the sake of comparison to what is generated now)?

I might play around with the HTML a little later, but it could be a better help to ask Photobucket support, 'cos I'd just be winging it until something worked. :8}

The only ones that work for me are the HTML and the HTML thumb.

The HTML thumb code is what causes the problem with the album showing up and the links being available.

I changed the setting to link back to the album so I'll see whether that makes a difference,(my other account had the photos inserted the same way but the link back wasn't ticked).

Un-ticking the link back to the album and then getting a new set of HTML thumb codes has fixed that problem.

It now goes back to the album without the links.

But I can't see what it would do for others as it brings the album up but I have to sign in to it,?:|

I've added the link codes for each so you can see what does show for me.

eg: the Email, direct link,IMG code and the IMG thumb codes don't work for me.

The first HTML thumb code had the link back imbedded but I don't know whether it's still the case as it won't let me check,X-(

The bottom HTML thumb code 2 has the link back un ticked.

checking your listing as suggested, the HTML seems the most successful - the thumbs just link back to the photobucket home page exccept for thumb 3 which does not link at all

the HTML does link back to the photobucket picture but seems pointless as the picture in the listing is huge already

and the email, diirect link and IMG codes don't work, as you say.

I have got headache just from reading this topic! 🙂  Guess, I have to go and update or my listings will stop working  .... :_|

i think this is a monumental stuff-up, I have never ever over the years had a major problem with changes, I always updated the moment the change happened, and in no time at all mastered the new look.  This time I have spent 3 hours trying to work on the new Photobucket, and then gave up.
