Sheer disgust and fury!
From May 1 they intend to raise my fees TWENTY PER CENT in a flat, highly competitive market.
They are a price gouging, GST avoiding disgrace, a fake and shonk listers paradise, who have driven the collectables market and the value of most collectables DOWN not UP.
Just the added incentive I need to finally cut loose of them.

Hi 5kazam,
I'm not an E-bay store owner even though I did use the standard $19.95 E-Bay store about 2 years ago when it was available as it worked out a little cheaper. But when the free listings came in it was easier and cheaper to go with that.As I mainly only sell NRL cards which sell mostly for less than $10.00 even with the 40 free listings the cost of selling fees then Paypal fees it will not be worth the effort in selling.I have been doing this for about 8-9 years and it was a good hobby but it looks like E-Bay only wants the big sellers on this site which is a shame as the old saying goes "Small fish are sweet" but they are getting rid of all the small fish !!!!

It is a pain to all of us that are here now BUT like any other changes the new ones coming in will know no different and will happily sell till they cop new changes we are now going to get and the circle will continue.
In the end sellers will get used to the changes and keep on trucking or will close down and come back again later as happened in the past.

What you say about the free listings being easier and cheaper is so valid. For people like me (and there are plenty of us out there), if we are going to get tied up in fees for this, fees for that, we just aren't going to bother. May as well donate our things to Salvo's or wherever!!!
I am trying to reclaim the garage and Bed 3 for their intended purpose, and my lifetime of collecting was slowly being removed through eBay. But it seems I now only have a month to do it.
Such a shame that eBay can't see the trees through their $$$$$$$forest$$$$$$$$.

Agreed sparklz....whenever there is a change in fees etc everyone becomes hysterical
You need to do your sums and see what is the best for you as a seller
Maybe you can go back to a basic store with free listings or whatever. I, for one, will be better off for a change. I may change back to a basic store and just list BIN
You need to work out what is best for you
Take a deep breath.....it may not be as bad as you think 🙂

I think it's really disappointing that eBay chooses to hike up charges yet again (including a 300% increase in the listing fee for low values and a 20% increase in final value fees).
Australian sellers are already paying well above overseas rates for the same on-line services (just check the information on other eBay sites e.g US and UK). This move shows greed, arrogance and a total lack of respect for their, what has always seemed to me, pretty loyal customer base here in Australia.
Although not a high volume low price seller myself I have crunched some numbers and from the results would assume many will now have to give eBay away completely and do something else. Particularly those that may not be able to reasonably charge any more for things that are already at best line ball with the same product that buyers can source directly from overseas - probably from other eBay sellers located in countries that benefit from lower seller fees compared to Australia.
Myself? For now I'll stay under the 40 a month radar until I've got rid of my surplus stuff then stop.
Could do much better, eBay.

Heres an idea mr ebay, drive away all the sellers then see what happens. You have already removed the right of sellers to leave negative feedback, how about giving us a break for once and copy what all auction houses do-share the cost.Increase the number of free listings to say 50 or so,reduce the FVF to a flat 5% but charge the BUYER 2% and also charge them a minimal amount if they withdraw or dont complete the purchase for whatever reason,or you could just carry on making it more expensive for sellers and come back and see how that works for you. Will be doing everything I can to list elsewhere. Can imagine the amount of off ebay sales will increase as well,in fact I hope it does

I will save about $34 per month by going back to a Basic store - $30 in store fees and 80 free listings. My FVF will drop by 0.4%.
I, therefore, don't mind these changes as they will save me money.
Craftaholic, Paypal charge on the transaction amount, that is the amount of money they process, and it is only with eBay transactions where the postage is able to be differentiated from the item price. Payments through other sites go through as a lump sum. Are you suggesting eBay sellers should get preferential treatment to sellers on other sites?
