Just as an aside - on ebay au listings, apart from auto& real estate, there are no reserve prices. So why not devote your item headings to more descritive terms?

"I hope you tell potential buyer in those listings you don’t actually have possession of those items, false item location and all that stuff"
Provided item location is correctly filled in, would it be necessary to explain an item isnt actually in the seller's possession? ie. if selling for a friend in Melbourne, would you only have to say its in Melbourne?
I'm mostly thinking about dropshippers here.
Absolutely incorrect item location is a pet peeve of mine though. I recently bought something for the simple reason they were the only seller who had stock in Australia, Item Location was Sydney, so I bought it. When it arrived 4 weeks later in a China Post parcel I was PEEEEEVED!!! If I'd read the description properly I would have seen the postage method was standard international postage and bells would have started ringing.

Here is the ebay policy
http://pages.ebay.com.au/help/policies/item-location.html
In the example you cited I would have given them a Neg and marked their strars down for that.
When I buy from HK I expect long postage times and a cheap price, when I buy from OZ I expect the item within the week and expect to pay more.

I dont believe some of the answers on here from so called ebay experts.
If you didnt say pick up allowed then you dont have to accept pickup simple as that.
Ebay doesnt even have a 'no pickup allowed' option (not to be confused with the 'no postage 'local pickup only' option)
It doesnt matter that you offer pick up on your other items. totally irrelevant.
maybe the item in question isnt even in your possession. maybe you dont like waiting around for people to show up. maybe you dont like strangers knowing your address. maybe your're not in town. not that you need to explain yourself.
By placing a bid, the buyer is agreeing to pay the postage cost, no matter where they live.
Otherwise they should have asked you beforehand if pickup was allowed. Why should you need to list all the things that is NOT allowed.
I suppose you should list that you will not sell to anyone with 3 arms as well?

Ummm ......... this thread is more than 12 months old - I rather imagine the issue has been resolved by now.

Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.
