If it's an echeque you will get an email from PP saying just that.

There will also be a transaction record in your PP acount saying it is an echeque payment pending until whatever date.

I have had this happen. Follow the link.on the email from paypal. It has a button that says claim funds. Had it happen the other day. First time its happened but in my paypal account straight after i accepted it

I actually bought and paid for an item by PayPal on the 1st Nov.  it has been taken from my account.  On eBay it has an hourglass and says payment pending ???

Sounds like an echeque.
