We have had a buyer who ordered 5 different items from us and paid straight away in a single transaction.
When paying they chose the express post option but somehow the billing system has added in 5 lots of express instead of just one. The 5 items will fit easily into a single 500-gram satchel. SO they really only needed to pay for a single express fee.
So of course we have refunded the buyer the excess $42.20 to their PayPal account so that they only paid a single express post fee. They sent us a message thanking us profusely for our honesty but that they hadn't noticed this had happened.
That's all fine and beaut but.....
Now, of course, ebay have charged us the FVF on this $42.20 that we have refunded. About $4.00?
So how do we go about getting a FVF credit for the $42.20 we have refunded in PayPal?
I'm guessing we need to call ebay to sort this one for us.

You can only call ebay and hope they will refund the fee, not much else you can do. Do you have automatic discounts set up on your listings? If so it looks like you have to do them for each postage method.
I actually don't offer express post satchels as they do not have full tracking, only tracking to the nearest delivery centre.

I've just now noticed that after the refund in PayPal that the order on our awaiting postage list has been altered.
The total has been adjusted down by the $42.20 refund amount.
So perhaps there is a link into the paypal record and maybe, just maybe, the FVF will only be charged on the final transaction amoun after the refund. Is it possible to view FVF's charged on individual transactions somewhere?
Thoughts?

In My Account - go to View all account activity and each individual transaction shows there.

Is that for the satchels and is it tracking which stipulates the buyer's postcode or just that of the mail centre? Ordinary express parcel is fine as you have proof of sending to the buyer's address.

At times I use Express Post Platinum satchels (includes tracking, signature on delivery AND $100 of cover). Good deals can sometimes be found on these, when compared to 'normal' express or parcel post satchels..

It prints out a similar label to normal C&S but has EXPRESS as the banner, the charge is $9.90 and it should be lodged over the counter, they can also be printed via ebay labels

This is simply not true. Regular and express parcels only tracking to "the delivery centre" as part of the service AP offer is a furphy. Occassionally some may not be tracked along the way or as delivered, however IMO it is now the exception, rather than the rule.
AP regular and express post including satchels have "full tracking" from lodgement to delivery.
What a sender of some regular or express satchels or parcels may not have is proof of addressee - that is a different issue all together.
