If you want to send a personalised message, send one. "Dear Buyer. Thanks for your recent purchase from me. Here is your tracking number, as was already available in the automated message sent by eBay. Your package will be sent via Swift and Shift Couriers and may or may not arrive. Lots of warm bear hugs and kisses to you. Signed <your name>" . There! 🙂

If I want to send a buyer a personalised message, I send one. Often I will send a message thanking them for their prompt payment and I will have their package in the mail first thing tomorrow, or later today (depending on the time they pay). If they live interstate, I will give them a rough estimate on how long it might take for their package to arrive, going on past deliveries.

Yay to the restoration of thread:hover popups  :catvery-happy

and they are better than they were before

It gave me a bit of a fright when I first saw it because I've been downloading heaps of stuff setting up my new desktop and I thought I'd picked up a popup bug.

Now we just need eBay or Lithium to change the Community landing page to make it obvious that any questions posted are being posted on a public Member to Member board.

This is what we currently have and it doesn't surprise me that posters think they are asking questions of eBay:

Surely it can't be hard to change the wording to the same as on the US site.

I suppose I have based it on an assumption that due the process of click and send or ebay labels - they can only be processed when goods are marked unsent, and the system marks it as it as sent.  This doesn't account for post I have received processed in other ways though.

I will watch out for the next batch of marked as sent advice emails and retain them to check for clues as to the type of parcel actually being sent.

I think the tracking number one is a quite a good development - but would like to know what triggers it.

I would be interested to know as well, perhaps if I have the opportunity, I can test it out with someone one by marking things in a different order (presuming I have a tracking number).

Just to mention also, though, that a C&S parcel can be processed no matter what the status on eBay is (it's just that you may not be able to pull the details automatically from a linked account).
