Can I register on another eBay site?

Hello.  Can I register on a USA or UK eBay site to sell?  I though I might getter better search results from prospective buyers that way for the pouches I am making.  Is there a rule against?  In the eBay customer Support they mention 'listing on another eBay site or international selling' but I can't find what they mean by 'listing on another eBay site'.  I am selling internationally.  I would like to do anything I can to boost sales 🙂

Chris

Chris, what that means is that when you do a listing, you can tick the option to sell internationally. You also need to agree to the International selling agreement.

The only way you could register on an international site would be if you were able to actually verifiy your residence there ie phone number, bank account

Thank you foxette-in-sox, that's interesting. So why, when I search ebay.au do items from China etc come up? They must be registered on ebay.au I wonder if there is a way I can get around this.

Chris, the sellers are listing internationally. Any seller who opts to sell internationally and includes Australia as where they will post to, will show on ebay.au.

For example, if you are selling internationally and you opt to sell to the UK, your listings will show on ebay.uk

Chris, they are NOT registered on ebay.au, they are simply ticking the option to sell internationally.

Do you understand ? Smiley Happy

Yes, I understand what you're saying. In a search items come available come up followed by items available by international sellers. Like a search for 'wallace and gromit figurines' for instance. Why are some of the available items in the first section listed UK and USA and not in the international sellers section with all the other international sellers? That has me puzzled.

I mean wallace and gromit in 'character toys'. Sorry

Chris, if you look over to the left side of the page when you do a search for anything, ebay automatically displays all listings listed on ebay.au. So if sellers are listing internationally with Australia ticked as being where they post to, they will show amongst the aussie sellers.

If you look under Item Location, you can also choose to tick located in Australia only or worldwide.

That's where I get confused because sometimes I just want to search for Australian items only. Yet if I tick the Australia only option, I still see results from the USA and China, same as what I would see if the default option of eBay Australia was ticked.....although not as many results.

You don't need to be registered on an international site to list there, as such, you just need to log in to that site to create the listing.

For example, I'm registered in Australia, via eBay.com.au, but I can log in to any other eBay site and create a listing. If I log into the US site (eBay.com), my listing will be on the US site, in US $'s.
