I now send all my items signature on delivery due to Australia post losing a click and send item and having to spend eight months ringing Australia post and the ombudsman to get a refund. I recently had to send an item registered as apparently it couldn't go signature on delivery. That had tracking all the way. It would appear that Australia post can and does perform inconsistently. Most of all at the point of interface. If the person serving you is well versed in their job. Obviously this extends all the way down the chain. Maybe your registered item just was handled by a bunch of typical Australians at work.

Left out a whole sentence there. If whomever is serving you knows their job you get things done (ie postcode on your receipt. I don't and was told off for not. Don't work for Australia post but should know all their procedures) at a much better standard.

Thanks for the blatant put down there. I was just trying to help.

Harley wasn't giving you serve, she simply advised that you were incorrect, had the OP listened to your advice they would have had incorrect information.

We all make mistakes, I would rather learn differently than carry on blindly doing or thinking the wrong thing.

I'm always happy to be corrected if I post incorrect information. A prime example is the thread from the seller who was selling a car and got charged fees, even though it didn't sell. Not having sold anything vehicle related for a few years, I wasn't aware there had been changes as far as that goes. As it doesn't apply to me, it wasn't a change I'd bothered to keep informed about.

I was corrected, I now know how it works now and I am happy about it.

I will admit I was wrong. Fact is the person that runs my post office isn't able to put a postcode on items sent under 500g. So now I know it can be done but i can't get it done

As for carrying on blindly. I don't send anything for $7.20 anymore because Australia post lost an item and it took eight months and many phone calls to get a refund. I did come across as a put down. The single word "wrong" has an entirely different connotation than something like that's not correct

I purchased postage today at a city PO. for an assessed parcel (up to 1kg). The receipt has the postcode on it.

I usually post satchels at my town PO. I buy the postage online and lodge them over the counter. Those receipts don't have the postcode on them.

Being male I know that everything I say or do is wrong. Pity I'm still expected to do all the heavy lifting and other stuff that women seem so conveniently unable to do when they always say they can do anything a man can. At least in my ten years of digging graves by hand u never heard a woman say I was doing that wrong
