they don't really look like late 19th century British silver marks

Ok I got bored and done some research.

I can't locate the maker's mark closest is the one already stated.

But for the other mark's

Lion standing = silver

monkey face (leopard's) = London

S = 1933

as you can see the order of the lion and leopard have a lot to do with the year.
