Better photos seem to indicate that the figure is cast from white metal of some sort - if it is heavy maybe lead-based, or tin-based alloy. I would say AFL, from the days when they wore collars - 1940s 1960s. Purely a guess. I would say it has some value on its own. The top section still looks odd to me - I don't suppose it screws off?

Good luck with selling the goblet - I would not bother about the dents, nor really with cleaning it up. Looks very saleable to me. Antiques - sterling silver, making sure you put hallmark date and weight in the title.

The man appears to soldered to the top part and then bolted to the bottom section The nut and thread appears to be some type of alloy. 

I agree the best way to sell is with a minor clean and let someone else do what they want. Although not a lot of value it's still nice to get a bonus every now and then. Although I have to be careful not to just add it to my collection of things I have aquired over the years that do not owe me anything so enjoy displaying them. 

The goblet is very nice quality.

I would guess the top was added later if it doesn't have any hallmarks.

Looks like AFL but I would say 1930-40's.

Funny I was only buying a BBQ cover and ended up with something worth slightly more although the BBQ cover retails for $300+.
