I am looking at buying an expensive second hand camera (>$1500) on eBay (auction). When I look at used items it constantly displays "Pay as little as AU$**** show me how" (linking to PENNY5 code). The terms and conditions of that code clearly state that it can only be used on brand new items.
The fact that I can see the 'Pay as little as' message when I look at used items makes me think the code should still work (despite contradicting the terms and conditions).
Will PENNY5 save me 5% on a used auction item?

Thank you. I'll try to start a live chat now.
The seller I'm looking at has 100% feedback with sufficient transactions. They have also answered my questions to the point I'm assured it's a genuine sale.

I have just looked up the T & Cs of the current PENNY5 offer in case they have changed since I used it in early August and I cannot find anywhere where it says it only applies to new items.
I used it on second hand items in early August and had no problems and there is nothing to indicate that this reincarnation is any different.

That is different to the original PENNY5 offer.....I have never seen that on any other ebay offer.
The offers are usually very specific so you should assume that it will not work on used auction items.
I was able to use mine on auction items by paying for them from the Cart rather than from my Purchase History.

I have recently used it for a vintage item, so it shouldn't be a problem.

But which incarnation of the PENNY5 code did you use? We are onto about number 4 if memory serves me.
I used it for used items too but it did not have the condition of "new and unused" as posted by the OP.
I have never seen this in Terms of any discount offer before but I do know that ebay is very particular about all terms being followed to the letter.
