I could only chat to an agent as the call me option was having tech issues. I am not happy with the answer I received and will try to talk to someone. I will copy and paste their response, which makes no sense!!

Their reply - "I have checked and found that the listings says Will post to Australia. Read item description or contact seller for postage options. See details As you have set combine postage rule on your listing if you remove postage rule from your policy then your buyer will be able to purchase the item without any issue,."

I then said "So, we can't offer combined post anymore"

Their reply -

"You can offer combine postage on your listing but on your policy you have set combine postage rule for which buyer see that Will post to Australia. Read item description or contact seller for postage options"

I said I have had this rule for years and not once have I ever had a customer complain they can't buy.

Please, someone make sense of their response for me because I sure can't!

He said he would escalate my concern and I should hear back within 48hrs. But I will still try and talk to someone on the phone.

And now the 1 kg is $14.95 not the $15.25

500gms should be $11.20 and its now showing $10.93

its quite frustrating as it has effected all my listings

Calculated postage is now priced accordingly to which zone it is in. You will need to either buy your postage on ebay or have a myPost Business account with band 2 or better to avoid paying extra over the counter at the post office.

Your other option would be to go to fixed price postage but those with calculated postage will show a lower postage price to some zones which could sway some buyers who are price sensitive.

These scenarios don’t affect me, as I have ‘fixed price postage’, and I am able to combine, but most of my listings are auction……

For my BINs, I just refund excess postage.

Have been doing this for 15 years.

I do note, that in that 15 years, many threads have been started about: I can’t combine postage any more (sigh), with most replies stating that eBay are preventing it, so they can get more fees 🤨

Sorry, this reply was for curated

The whole thing is a complete mess.

It sure is! I just spoke to another eBay rep, and he at least could see all the issues. He's raised this as an urgent matter, so fingers crossed enough people are reporting this so it gets fixed asap. As a temporary fix, I added Sendle as another postage option, as that is showing up for customers. At least it's better than having them reach out for postage for them for the time being.

Do you have ebay postage labels or Aust Post labels selected. When I changed to ebay labels the postage showed on the one I tried it with.

Can I ask you a question, when I list items I just put the price which I require for postage and packing.

That’s it. It looks as if many of you are using another method which allows ebay to calculate your postage.

Why would you do this?

Hi there, I am reading this thread as I am having a rather different problem, which I have posted today.

However, a while back, I recall that the XS ebay postage bags were apparently “incorrectly” marked as max 250gm. Everyone seemed to agree that this should be ignored and that up to 5kg was ok?

Now it appears to have done a 360 degrees.

Also is there actually a maximum thickness, my daughter says there is not?

Fixed price is what I always do, surely this would solve the majority of problems?
