Default item listings in Shop

I want to have my items arranged in my shop by order of 'Newest Listed' first.  I have selected this option on the 'Manage my Store' page, however it keeps on reverting to 'Best Match' order in the store.  This is when using my laptop - not on a phone.  It has been happening for at least a couple of days now - (but quite possibly longer).  Any advice?

As far as I know that button is for your buyers to decide how they want to sort your items.  You cannot set it to what you want.

It always defaults to Best Match and you have to reset it for every search.

Actually, Edit in Manage Store lets you alter the default order.

Unfortunately, in the new set-up, the alteration doesn't stick, it flips back to Best Match whereas in the old set-up, for me at least, you could alter the default effectively.

And once changed, it at least remains until you log out of eBay. Or used to.

Not for me, the change simply doesn't happen at all under the new layout, it stays at Best Match.
