Thanks, This saved me a lot of time

I was trying to upload a webp  image as the main image and i get this error

Unsupported file format (FF002)

anchorpackof4.webp

The file is not supported by eBay. Please remove it and upload only JPG, GIF, PNG, TIF or BMP files.

eBay doesn't support webp images to be uploaded which are smaller and clearer.

They are however allowed in the html description of the auction.

Just save your webp as a jpg in paint or photoshop. It is unusual for  selling platform not to prefer webp's, as you say much clearer and smaller for faster loading pages

I am having the same problem. I can't upload images to my listing and get the same error message. If I look at a listing which I created a few weeks ago I can see the listing but without the image I had successfully uploaded when I listed it. If I look at someone else's listing I can see their image.

I do not have the add-on mentioned in another post and have never had this problem before. This is particularly annoying as I was just about to begin scheduling my CD/LP auctions for 1st August. Help!!!

I can see some images and thumbnails today, but many don't show and are just blank, or I can see the name in blue in searches (where the image should be), but not the image. Maybe there is a problem today? I tried different browsers, cleared cache etc., but it still is the same.

I tried using Firefox instead of Chrome but had the same problem. I have fixed it! I used CCleaner to clean Windows and Application and then ran the Registry Cleaner. My images are back!

I have CCleaner too. I had tried cleaning my browser manually (from the browser's settings, cache, cookies etc.), but it did not work. I have to go out for 20 minutes, then I will try CCleaner, or I will actually start before going out, so it is finished when I come back. 🙂

14.7.21 first time I have ever had this problem, looked it up here, ran C CLEANER & things were back to normal, cheers.........

Aspire to inspire before you expire.....stan.

CCleaner did the trick for me too. 😀 It must have been a problem that was not specific to the browser, that's why all browsers had the same problem and cleaning cache and cookies in the browser did not help.

Still does not work, despite trying ... and has been a common issue with eBay on and off for several months, regardless of whether I suspend extensions of any kind. It just puts an "X"  with the picture ... even that copied as an image from eBay and resized so that it is not too large for eBay. This then causes the next stage box to be greyed out, resulting in not being able to return the misdescribed item to the seller. The simple answer appears to be a (another of many) technical faults they are not wishing to resolve anytime too soon?
