An item is no longer available ( was sold elsewhere) but buyer has 'paid'. The money is in limbo some how as I dont have an account even attached to the item to receive a payment. I have been unable to get any help from eBay. The buyer has become aggressive and abusive.Can anyone suggest how I sort this?

Refund them if they paid.
Have you signed up for Managed Payments? If not, that could well be why you haven't received the money.
Did you cancel the listing when it was no longer available? If not, you are likely going to have to wear a policy violation .
