Just letting you know that I uninstalled IE10 and everything is now back to normal! Wife is happy and so am I so thanks for all the advice.

Only remaining prob is that the comp seems to have slowed down since I started experiencing all this kerfuffling. Even now that I'm back to IE9 it's still slower than it was because this drama started
