its a super profits tax.. tax on larger than usual profits. it simply means the miners aren't as profitable. that' d be the fault of the miners. ? odd to oppose something and then claim it doesn't work :^O only the current opposition could be so see through.. if it was bringing in large revenues they would complain about that too.
The problem is that Swann took it as a given and based his spending on the revenue...
he budgeted for over 2 billion dollars...
I know for a fact that the mines have changed a lot... some to do with the au dollar, some to do with the CO2 tax and a some to do with the MRRT...
they will never pay that tax... they will make sure of it..
