I am too terrified of chickens to ever be comfortable with having 3 in my backyard.
My daughter has 6....... that can be my share.....

As long as you're getting the eggs .. it's more about not using battery or barn eggs than where they're housed. I supply all my mums eggs although I suspect she isn't too keen on the silkie eggs .. but she gets them anyway as we don't like to waste them

rofl .. you shouldn't need to pay for roosters .. unless there is a specific pretty one you want. I give them away in the local paper when I have them (and I suspect I have a bunch right now)

I have about 12very large chicken pens and heaps of laying boxes to get rid of.

The man who owned this house breed fancy chooks, some worth about $300:O
He puts them in shows etc.

your chookens are soo cute.
