About the asking for donations.... it has never ever been done before that a prime minister uses his or her position to solicit for donations.
He was at work... he was doing the job of the PM... he was announcing to the country the date of the election... the writs have not yet been written as they will be done tomorrow... so he is not is caretaker mode... he is still or PM...
He had no right to use his position as PM to ask for donations to a political party.
BUT.. thanks to his wonderful speech I have given my donation to the LNP....
dont forget, they dumped the big tobacco donations unlike the libs. do you know the same people who fund tobacco lobbying fund climate denial and started the tea party ? 
they aren't fooling anybody are they ?
