FINALLY,
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd has announced the federal election will be held on Saturday, September 7.
Mr Rudd revealed the new election date in an email to Labor supporters with the words "It's on".
"A few moments ago I saw the Governor-General and asked that she dissolve this parliament and call the federal election for September 7," the email reads.

seems asking for donations isn't an unusual thing then.
NW, I find it hard to know if your posts are c&p's of other people's work or your own words and/or a combination of both .

About Ruddy time....
About the asking for donations.... it has never ever been done before that a prime minister uses his or her position to solicit for donations.
He was at work... he was doing the job of the PM... he was announcing to the country the date of the election... the writs have not yet been written as they will be done tomorrow... so he is not is caretaker mode... he is still or PM...
He had no right to use his position as PM to ask for donations to a political party.
BUT.. thanks to his wonderful speech I have given my donation to the LNP....

I donate to Ronald McDonald House and cat rescue. Refuse to donate to any political party. Rather give my money to a worthwhile cause.

He lied yesterday, he said he was going to the G8 meeting & would not be calling the election until after that., He stood there & lied to us all then he flies to Canberra & announced the election.
He is a liar and he proved it yesterday. The begging letters are arriving & have been since he regained the PM ship. I am now getting begging emails every day from Rudd. Chance is a fine thing.

I believe you mean the "G20" Summit.
Apart from that slip-up, if you truly believe that what Kevin Rudd said constitutes a lie, then you have even less grasp of contemporary political process than I thought.
As for the begging letters, may I suggest, rather than complain about them, that you apply a rule to your incoming emails so you don't have to view these noisome missives.
