Abbotts plan is pretty good for some.. . its a bit sexist though. men cant stay at home instead ? what if the mother is the one with career taking off ? very short sighted and elitist.

I think, but am not sure, that Labor's plan allows mother and father to share the 18 weeks, thereby recognising how important it is for fathers to bond with newborns, something conservatives would deem unnecessary (women's work, this baby stuff).

That' s life, someone has to bite the bullet and stop handing out money that is not there. If labor had not spent it all on school halls that were not essential in some areas, given money to dead dogs or people living overseas in the so called stimulus package the next government ( LNP) would not have to take such drastic measures. Don,t blame the LNP for trying to fix the almost unfixable, blame the party responsible for making the mess in the first place.
