 its a bit like 'cop it to give us a good name' which is understandable in the context of the times, when that was your lot in life. its a bit difficult for 21st century westerners to cop though .

And the context is? I've just gone back to it and it is pretty clear:

If a man sleeps with a woman who is a slave girl promised to another man but who has not been ransomed or given her freedom, there must be due punishment. Yet they are not to be put to death, because she had not been freed. 

All will be forgiven if the man brings  a ram to the entrance to the Tent of Meeting for a guilt offering to the LORD.

 does anyone remember when the anglicans published the new testament on its lonesome ? 'the good news bible' ? this thread contains the reasons for that. confusion between two distinctly different approaches .

still not getting it izab, just saying what the Bible says.

remeber also that the Bible tells us continuelly to be aware of false teachers.

bob has brought up the KKK before as "christian" but their beliefs is totally differant to what the Bible says.
