so martini, just because you say it over and over does not make it truth - go and read the book of Philemon. you will see how Jesus wants us to treat slaves -

you set them free and invite them into your home and treat them like family [had to write it since you don't want to read the truth for yourself]

So if Jesus say treat your rape victim like they're your family. Does that make it admirable?

or Should Jesus just have said. Don't own another human.

cricky, i can have sex with as many females slaves as i want - must have missed that one, which scripture is that or are you confusing the Bible with the tv show spartecus?

What did God say if you rape someone? YOu get to marry them.

or maybe they were referring to the story of Lot offering his daughters to be raped???

So many edifyling stories in the old testament instructed by GOd, it's hard to choose one.

Try Leviticus 19:20.

if as a politician he wants gay marriage thats fine - in a democracy we all [including me] should have the right to put forward opinions / debate etc - then the vote.

but

he brought in God and misquoted the Bible - hence problem

Hi Gavo,

He didn't bring God into it.He was asked and he answered giving what he was asked 'his own feelings as a Christian'

Gay couples do live as couples as it is now .. or as you might say not as the Bible says ?.Allowing legally recognised (not ordering everyone to accept it ) marriage for all wouldn't change what you believe their final judgement may ..would it ?  Although the Bible tell us that Judgement is not ours to make ,doesn't it ?

Re: Rudd on Q&A tonight

I would ask the pastor if he think he is a Christian because he doesn't believe in stoning adulterers or homosexuals.

I'm not sure what's worse - a Bible basher who thinks they can convert you? A Bible basher that reads the Bible in onoy select versus that suit their point of view? A Bible basher that has no idea what is actually in the Bible? A Bible basher that assumes that no-one knows the Bible quite like s/he does? Or a Bible basher full stop?

Re: Rudd on Q&A tonight

typical, martini - try reading it in context. your not to do it then gives you the punishment for it. talks about atonement for the sin and you should by rights be put to death for it.
