Just reading a article that Papamoa could become a mini gold coast, I hope this never happens 🙂

I agree lionrose......left the Gold Coast over 20 years ago because it was getting to squashy, too fast and too much crime.  When my nan first moved there, their house was in a street five back from the gold coast h'wy and behind her was nothing but sand dunes etc.  This was at Miami.  Her house cost umm, either $7,000 or $9,000 (can't remember) and it was fully frunished right down to cutlery and lawn mower.  The previous owner had been in the merchant navy and had a houseful of the most interesting and beautiful things.  He and his wife wanted to move back to Scotland, so just packed their clothes and sold everything with the house.  It was a treasure trove for a child !

I agree soul, at the moment it is very safe here, a couple of times I have gone out and left the garage door open.

We have a good Police here that patrol the area.

I was talking to a guy in a coffee bar awhile ago and he says he is part of the neighbourhood watch citizen patrol and they actually patrol my area at night.

Makes me feel very safe.
