So my opinion about this particular thread and the subsequent posts? It's bad enough that human beings, who are supposedly capable of empathy and emotion, treat animals in ways such as above and with so little respect, without useing them as a subject for political point scoring. Furthermore, I doubt that very few people have not participated in or facilitated in the continuation of at least one of the practises above, yet we are prepared to condemn one particular man because he happens to be a politician.

I'm quite happy to condemn this person and not for political point scoring but because of his sickening and arrogant 

practices.  This thread is not about all the other cruelties imposed on animals though I acknowledge your 

point, but many of these practices you mention have their own very vocal dissidents, fortunately. 

He is a man of influence and being a politician one would hope has moral integrity, but in my view

has absolutely none.
