punch - I am not sure if she did actually contact the media herself...details are scant. Although that does raise a good point, re her asking for more visiting hours etc, she would need a translator present to be able to communciate.
I would hope that translators would be virtually on call.
The whole thing makes me really annoyed with the refugee advocates, although they do some very good work, there is clearly a lot of political point scoring involved too. I would hate to think that this woman wanted more hours and her requests were not passed on just to make a better story of it.
