Exactly. Show the bag, walk on..forget about it 10 seconds later.

They just want to peep inside, they have no interest in your personal stuff, they don't want to read your letters nor look at your photos your sons ashes would remain untouched.
I agree Ibis and Am!

yes i object to been made feel like a criminal and try not to go back tot hat store and i have 3 forms of police clearance so  i assume i am  innonenct of wrong doings

Do you object to BAG INSPECTIONS at stores? No

Do you object to staff asking to inspect your bag? (they are only doing their job) No

Will you shop at a  store that asks to inspect your bag or will you go elsewhere? Yes

Do bag inspections and security checks help to stop shop lifting and keep prices down? I think so

If you object WHY?

Do you think that objecting to a bag inspection makes a person look guilty or they are guilty? Maybe in some situations

Rememer that its a condition of entry at just about every major /medium/small store in Australia

It is not about the time it takes, my handbag is for personal items. If I were going to rob a store I would not put it on display in my handbag.

I went to Coles this morning, no bag check lol

I did see on the news that they are chasing 2 women in Perth that robbed some jewellery in the CBD, I saw their pics 🙂

Ibis, in a lot of cases, I suspect, actually I am convinced, they enjoy power trips...

If that's the case Meeps I hope their daughters/granddaughters get work in one of the stores with a bag check policy and that they are treated in this very way! Is it any wonder no one wants to work in customer service anymore?

Im fed up with having to pay for the crimes of thieves. If you are innocent, not a shoplifter, there could be no possible reason to object to a bag inspection,.

If you read the thread you will see there are VALID reasons to object.

That makes sense.

Some of the objectors are male... I presume they don't  even carry manbags/handbags around with them, so personal handbag inspection wouldn't be an issue for them anyway.

I note the female objectors are mainly objecting to requestes to look in their  personal handbags rather than carry shopping bags.

Most personal handbags probably are under the A4 size and wouldn't be requested to be inspected anyway (dependng on what state you live in).
