Nah, "Outward Bound" was a Duke of Edinborough thing where you went trekking/sailing/caving etc with absolute minimal gear - it was pretty tough.

of course, I should have known that, knew I had heard it (kids are doiing the DOE) so it is kind of like scouts? (mine are doing it through school and Boys Brigade)

In the U.K. the DOE was a bit different to Outward Bound - still the same idea though, make it tough and kids'll love it.

 

My team came 1st at the end of the course (4 weeks of hell)

I told a friend (Polish) because I thought it was funny, he said there were some bikie bars he could take me to, in Poland, where they drink beer through straws, and I could them how funny I found it...
