Pretty low temps, lack of sunshinedaylight in winter, in Antarctica. The penguin species there are in their natural habitat though.

The story in the opening post is about the constant storms/ wet weather in the UK that the penguins there, have to cope with.

But they live in the sea?  Or at least  get wet when they look for food.

At least they don't have killer whales using them for sport

LOL, all i can say is I wonder what brand of towels they use

Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.

The little penguins are further up the coast apparently

(so I was told by info centre) and yes, the BIG penguin.

Well, then someone needs to tell the info centre cos I was

told "There are no penguins in Penguin, you have to go out

of town along the coast"

They have nice rubbish bins with penguins on them.

And just for crikey, here is the penguin with a couple of pigs

I bet the pigs aren't on antidepressants.....

Perhaps they don't want people looking for them or something.  I know they discourage people from looking for penguins, outside the designated areas,  as their rookeries are easily damaged.  People have been known to take their dogs for a hunt on occassion.
