I'm really disappointed that the violence (broken skulls, a murder, multiple machete injuries to 50+ humans) is justified as reasonable and ok. Total lack of empathy or compassion 😞
I'm 'intent on protesting' in a few weeks. I hope that doesn't mean objectors are permitted to hack me up with a machete, belt me with fence palings and stomp on my head?
Anyway, I've put a lot of thought into this issue lately...when did Australia become such a cruel, heartless society? I don't really believe we are cruel or heartless, except a very small minority, so that leaves only two options:
1) there are people who have allowed themselves to be manipulated by propaganda about asylum seekers ( they'd be the weak minded category)
Or
2) they are part of the small minority of genuinely cruel heartless people (like Ivan, for example)
Like eBay, I believe people are basically good. I can't see any other reasonable explanation for those who justify government sponsored torture, piracy and imprisonment.
