A lot of the pictures I don't understand without an explanation of what the Minimalist represents in the picture.

Erica, as much as I love your posts, I'm at a loss to figure out how your
photos are your own work, as stated in the rules, when you seem to be
the subject of nearly all of them. The one with the mirror, although very
funny is just c & p from Ikea. Yet it has 6 kudos.
Am I missing something?
Am I not reading the rules correctly?

Erica,
mine are about paring things back, or down, to essential qualities and simple lines...so one piece of chocolate, in a plain bowl, not a block; a miniature drink, before and after; an empty jar, where the essence is that there is no artifice, as it never contained make up; and the stick figures, people drawn to their bare bones only, where the boy offers his girl a single, simple rose. He is a minimalist. She, however, is a materialist, and had dreamt of a gigantic bunch, so is disappointed by his minimalism.

And the ring is because it is simple, not a diamond or other precious stone, but has meaning for me 🙂
I think that's all of them. Put in a few this week 😉

If you google minimalist photography (choose images) you'll see some amazing photos. But the word is just a prompt, how it is interpreted is up to the individual.

I prefer to not have captions if at all possible. I think to be a successful image it should be able to stand on it's own. That's why I have taken, if really needed, to putting captions in a spoiler box.
(Although I think that backfired on me in the Back When week. I don't think anyone got the Dreamtime reference in my Gulaga shot.)
