Minister Greg Pearce punished with a month-long holiday

Shadow special minister of state Walt Secord said yesterday he would go as far as it took, including a possible appeal to the Administrative Decisions Tribunal, to get hold of the documents.

“In Opposition, Barry O’Farrell promised openness and transparency, but in government we see otherwise,” Mr Secord said.

Mr Pearce was sacked after failing to tell Premier O’Farrell about the conflict of interest in the appointment of his wife’s boss to the board of Sydney Water.

PREMIER Barry O’Farrell is covering for sacked finance minister Greg Pearce over the shredding of documents.

Daily Telegraph: Barry silent on Pearce shred

Mr O’Farrell refused to answer questions from The Daily Telegraph about who authorised Mr Pearce or his staff to shred documents, which documents were destroyed, and if any shredded documents related to Mr Pearce’s dealings with Liberal lobbyist and left faction leader Michael Photios.
