COUNTERFEIT DVDs worth more than $60 million were seized when police raided a house in Marayong and a unit complex in Kings Park yesterday at 3pm.

Joint investigations by the Australian Taxation office and the New South Wales Police Force has led to a crackdown on a large counterfeit DVD network.

Police have dismantled a large-scale counterfeit DVD distribution network following raids in Sydney’s North West.


 


The investigation was the result of initial inquiries by the Australian Federation Against Copyright Theft “AFACT” in February 2013, and has been undertaken by the Australian Taxation Office and NSW Police Force. AFACT is an organisation that works with the film and television industry, government and law enforcement authorities to achieve its aims.
