The Italian pizza & pasta restaurant here has that.. Just the base with olive oil and maybe herbs ( haven't seen it close up). They slice it into strips ( rather than wedges) and serve it, like bread on the side, to customers eating in (I presume the customers order it, not a freebie).

 Isn't that focaccia?

I never took the no tomatoes on pizza as meant to be a ' topping'. If it is put on the base of every pizza (as a paste or whatever)then it isn't a topping choice.

If a pizza has chunks of tomato on it (vegetarian pizza) those are topping.

All this talk is making me want to go out and find a really good Italian restaurant. But I can't have any excess carbs until after July 6 *sob*

Some people can go their whole lives and never really live for a single minute.

No, it isn't a bit like focaccia BREAD. It is flat round thin pizza base.

Hey, AM3, I like your new Avi.

Pretty sure I've seen it somewhere before too.

Same recipe as pizza base but salt content is different. It is usually really (really!) thin in the centre.

It is delicious.

Shouldn't there be a "giggle" as well?  Oh, no, wait a minute, not posting today?

It had mozzarella cheese and some herbs and nothing else and was very much a bread to have with the rest of the meal. I can't recall what that was though. Pizza Bianca sounds familiar.............and it was delicious!

Traditional Pizza Bianca doesn't have anything else on it like cheese although I have seen it sprinkled with parmesan in Rome.

Not new as such, one of a few I rotate with. Cropped to fit better.

A nice pizza that I liked a lot , I have had a couple of times from an Italian pizza restaurant in Wollongong, just has sliced potato and a sprinkle of rosemary. Haven't had one for awhile, from memory it is all white, no tomato paste on the base.
