Annie my mother had a hard time and I thought I would, it was hard but not as bad as Mum.
I can remember opening all the doors in winter and Mike sitting wrapped in a blanket, then I would shut the doors and light the fire, them I would strip off and sit in my undies with all the doors open again, hahaha
Looking back now I can laugh at it

OK - because I have asian ancestry, I can post this without anybody
saying it's racist. It shows my life so far, lol
Lol so true.
We had dinner with a Chinese friend last night. Haven't seen her in ages so we chatted about how lucky she was to be asian and never age. At 40 she looks exactly as she did at 19.
She said asians have 3 lives - They are cute babies through to puberty. Then they look like teenages until menopause. Then suddenly they look like decrepid wizened old communist ex-officials..

When I lived in Auckland a little Thai girl used to come into my shop, she had 3 children she looked 15, could not believe it when she told me she was 36, such beautiful skin and hair.
I thought she was a child bride.

I had a similar mother who had had convent schooling. In a very solemn tone, "a child comes from the union of a married man and his wife".
I honestly thought one had to be married to have children
Her younger daughters were taught differently after learning that her original "birds and bees" lesson to me was sadly lacking in scientific realism.
And back on topic, how fortunate for men, that menopause is more openly discussed.
