To make pumpkin soup

2 cooking items required: pot and blender (or food processor)

or

1 cooking appliance - an electric soup maker

What is gullible about that?

They are available from $50 up, so they are not ultra expensive.

Maybe, but not as quick and this frees up your stove.

Pot won't cook soup on the bench top

And takes up cupboard space.

It is not a useful appliance unless you want a juicer and blender that makes things hot.  A good soup needs stock.  Chuck a fish head or bacon bones in there and see what happens.

Can't adults decide for themselves what suits them best, which appliances they do or don't buy?

Vegeterians eat soup, they do not put bones or fish heads in their soup.

I think how gallible are people, you can make the same thing in a pot.

don't call me gullible thank you.
I am well aware soup can be made in a pot, i have made it that way for 20+ years.

Sorry, people, but I've already mentioned that I use a rice cooker

to make my soup.. I can use bones or not. Usually just make

vegie soup though,  in variations

I suspect this thread just went through a revolving door

Yes.  It's a blender and soup maker for people that haven't spent the day before making stock.  Otherwise you could just chuck in your protein shakes and some celery leaves and a carrot. Voila 😄  Or viola as Icy likes to say 😄

Not everyone makes their own stock.

No, I don't make my own stock. I have used my soup maker about 5 times since last Monday. It uses less power than the stove top and is done in 21 mins.

Perfect for last minute meals, unexpected guests and those who live alone.
