Bleach might be safe or unsafe for the environment, I wouldn't know.  It is certainly not good if you aren't connected to mains sewerage.  We have our own septic system here with leach drains and bleach really upsets the balance so I'm told.

Here you go Joono

Caring for Your Septic System

Chlorine bleach in moderate amounts isn’t as bad for a septic system as you may have heard. But even a little drain cleaner may be terrible. One study found that it took nearly two gallons of liquid bleach but only about a teaspoon of chemical drain cleaner to kill the beneficial bacteria in a septic tank.

1 Gallon is nearly 4 litres

if those contributing do not read all relevant posts, they will not be on top of the discussion.

bleach, as with any other cleaner, needs to be used appropriately.

also, in my post above, 316, quite clearly, bleach is not mentioned in the relevant sentence. All cleansers, as easily read.

Hi, do you use bleach?

How about water? Distilled, or just straight from the tap?

Actually, that's a bit ironic

You use distilled water in your car battery, but then a battery has acid.....
