We do not really know what has happened.  It is possible that the parents thought that the boy was aborted.  The parents say they never met the surrogate, she says she met them.  The only person who really knows is the agent, and I believe he has gone missing.  It is possible the agent told them that the boy was aborted.   It is possible the surrogate met somebody, but it was not the father.  Frankly, I find it hard to believe that the parents would leave the boy behind without consideration for the backlash that would no doubt follow; could they really be so stupid?
