Nothing surprises me.  I lived in Vaucluse and Double Bay for years, and many of  the kids there were amazingly nasty spolied brats.  An every time they got into trouble, daddy would fix it. 

I recall when many year ago we lived in semi rural outskirts of Sydney, with many very wealthy people around; houses so big that there was not all that much of garden on the several acres blocks.  Anyway, there was a spate of car thefts; luxury cars were taken and later found burned out.  The general consensus was that it was the thugs from Blacktown.  In the end the kids were caught, and guess what, they were all local, and some of them were involved in burning out their own family cars.

What's a bus driver to do? Confront the louts and get himself beaten to a pulp for it? Leave the bus unattended with a load of pupils unguarded while he's laying there incapacitated?

Or drive on the the next stop where he can call for assistance? Which I believe he did.

So in your opinion they deserved it, they had it coming because Hamas is lobbing rockets and Isreal had to defend themselves. How dare they.

not exactly what was in the op.

don't remember such moral outrage from some when Sue Wilkins, the woman who screamed racist abuse at a woman and her young children on the train to Newcastle - or did i miss that.

I may not have expressed my outrage at the time re Sue WIlkins but I assure you, I was outraged.

In this case the kids probably don't really understand the seriousness of what they have done.

As for the bus driver, he is responsible for his passenger, school kids in this case. If he turfed those schoolboys off they bus and they got hit by a car or something then he would be in all sorts of doodoo as he is responsible for their safety too. I'm not condoning his inaction. There should be policies in place for situations where schoolkids are misbehaving or threatening. Perhaps pull over and call the police is the best option.

I thought every bus driver had an emergency button that connects straight to the depo???

I dont know what the policy is for other states but here in SA serco drivers are not permitted to leave their seats even to defend themselves when they are being attacked, instant dismisal so the public can  not expect a driver to get involved.

I’m missing two front teeth, because I moe than once chose to step up.

In life you will always be presented with problems like this.  My measure of the person is how they react (or don’t).

So what would I have expected he driver to do –  man up!
