She told me today she really misses cooking now it's just for one person and she doesn't really know how to cook for just herself. Does anyone know of a really nice cookbook for small meals that doesn't blare "cooking for one"?
I'm not asking for recipes for one, any internet search can find that. Rather I'm looking for a nice cookbook that I could give her as a present. Thanks 🙂

Hard to find one that doesn't say 'cooking for one'
Found this one 'Going Solo in the Kitchen'
But I do like the looks of this one 'The Pleasures of Cooking for One'
http://www.amazon.com/The-Pleasures-Cooking-Judith-Jones/dp/0307270726
I hope your friend can get back into cooking. Too often widows say it's
too much bother and their health suffers.
You are a good friend to want to help : - )

I know this isn't what you are asking lurker, but I would try and encourage her to cook as she did when her hubby was alive. I have days when I will cook all day, I make a baking dish of lasagna and freeze it into meal sizes for lazy days, I do rissoles, I even to roast dinner's and freeze them, I do apricot chicken and rice, slow cooker meals, all handy for those can't be bothered days.
