This is a sheet of the mdf "fake" vj....easier to put up... but you can tell the difference between this and the real timber panels.

 Wouldn't mdf vj be as 'lovely' as brick wallpaper?

Can't say I like the fake stuff at all, we will be painting our ceilings over the next six months or so, not easy but well worth the effort imo ..... I love our old ceilings the give the rooms so much character.  I dont like modern, easy peasy houses, no challenge or character.

My last home was built entirely from rosewood that was cut on the property, walls, ceilings, floors, frames, cladding, all rosewood. Some fool painted over one room in a pink paint.................. the rest was just oiled.

The outside was painted white. We removed all the pink ones and sanded them back. We replaced all the aluminium windows with the sash windows that it had originally.

I loved that house. 😞 It was Federation.

That's what I'm taking about Az..... My ancestors built their  hilltop Queenslanders from the timber off their land.

"Vj Really just means vertical join..... the way the boards fit together is with a tongue and groove join and made from timber."

I have always known that as tongue and groove ( which was in a lot of houses when I was a child NZ) , never heard it called VJ.
