No he is over 17 just my daughter a friend went with him .

Under 18, he is still a minor.  An adult would have to accompany him to court.

The police would have informed his parents.

Maybe not 100% true story being told here?

As hard as its going to be I now think i have to let her fall to help her . She wants to learn by her own mistakes but as I said to her what your doing is not mistakes because you know its not right .

Kilroy is right some kids just have to learn the hard way BUT make sure she knows the door is always open, you will always be there for her, she must also know that there are some things a parent can't rescue their kids from the law is one such thing!
I had to go to court with mine till he was 18 thankfully that's all behind us now he's 23.

No you are wrong , his mother has not and was not informed . He is now worried how he is going to pay the $200 fine he got , $120 for a wheel , $80 for a helmet and 12 months good behaviour . So dont tell me im not telling the truth .

Quite correct, at 17 they can even be directed to an adult court if a magistrate deems it warranted. All he would have done was said he was not living at home.

Haha I didn't want to imply you were lying just feeling ripped off that they made me go with mine! Lol

At 17 if the offence they have committed is serious enough they can go to jail .

Mugsy that wasnt directed at you sorry if you thought it was . It was directed at imastawka .

It's cool, sometime a scare from a good judge is what they need! unfortunatly the only thing that sorted my son out was the death of a close friend who was on the same path he was!

Sorry, haha.  I did not mean you weren't being truthful.  Misunderstanding.

I thought maybe the kids were spinning you a line, that's all

But it seems I am misinformed re minors anyway.
