No, not yet but we are getting there.  He had to take his car over the pits to get it reregistered.  It's all been a sorry mess but with him moving in with friends and now coming back home and not getting all his mail and with his operation and recovery somehow his cars rego expired and it was more than three months ago.

Long story but if you ever want new tyres and you make it very clear to the tyre place that they must pass a pits inspection and they assure you that they haven't got the size ordered but will give you a good deal on rims and tyres which they assure him will pass inspection then don't go to the place near Maddington shopping centre.

$1600 worth and the inspector says they are too large.  I think they are 20 inch and they won't pass more than 19.

Now it means a (temporary) tyre and rims swap and one other minor problem which won't cost much to fix and it has to have another minor inspection.  It has been a huge worry to me and I think I have gone a bit greyer.
