I've had my  Kindle for over 3 1/2 years now, and have innumerable books on it...........oddly enough, though, I prefer reading a real book...........

I could never go back to reading a "real" book now.

I do my reading in bed and its so much easier on the kindle

Yes, you can, you can also read on your smartphone but I choose a Kindle over an ipad for reading because of the backlighting issue, it makes me tired.

I still read real books sometimes.

The touch is really inexpensive? $99 at DS but isn't 3G.

The paperwhite has a light. Hope mine never dies.

I have one with the keyboard on the bottom.  Called a DX apparently.

They have been resurrected by Amazon, but they are costing approx. $400!

The come up on ebay, every now and then - people don't use them.

Wouldn't have a backlit unit for reading books though,  too tiring.

i suppose the touch would be ok. $99 is cheap

Yeah.  Good price, but get a screen protector for it.

If it gets scratched, it will be hard to read some parts of the screen?

Sending mail

still stumped on what kindle to get.

Im seeing the keyboard ones on ebay but of course they are all second hand so i worry they may have issues.

I have considered the touch one but a friend of mine has one and says it is annoying if you accidentally touch the screen while reading cause it takes you to another page. She also says there is little space to actually hold it while reading because the whole front in the screen

to get my screen repaired would cost $115.00 :0

The DX is the one with the keyboard.    Google kindle dx.   They are available new.

Not cheap though.  $375ish

I have decided to stop hoping mine dies.................. I don't believe I would be happy with anything except what I currently have.
