With respect to you twinks, that's just rubbish. It's the Australian way to shorten names. My name has 6 letters but everyone only ever uses 3. My OH has 7, but uses only 4.
By your reasoning shouldn't he be referred to as Anthony, not Tony?

Well, I can't agree with that, there were many threads around those times where posters diagreed with the same disrespect.

However, if we want to be free to give our opinion, we also need to allow others the same freedom.

He's Tone to me and that's that

And for that matter Christopher Pine is Chrissy to me because I think that suits him better.

I try not to think about them at all.

Shortening names of loved ones close friends etc may be ok if they are comfortable with it. It is disrespectful to do so to those you have no relationship with. Maybe I was brought up with more morals than some

I have no respect for him. He never looks comfortable with himself. Am wondering if he has something wrong with him.
