Are you for real?  Why would you feel the need to "ban" such threads? What is wrong with discussing religion? Have people become so shallow these days that all they can talk about are superficial/materialistic topics for fear of being "offended" or "confronted" by someones who has a strong opinion on something, namely religion, that differs from their own? 

I started posting here because I was impressed that people were actually discussing topics related to religion.  This idea that we shouldn't talk about politics, religion or money is more than carp imo.  These are some of the most important topics in life to discuss and I would probably cease posting here all together if these topics were banned...

Freedom of speach and all that...........

But some of the threads are just plain vicious and posted for that reason alone (and I am relating to the one particular poster "he who can not be named" - mainly becuase they have had so many different ones, names I mean).

Any one can join in or choose not to, but IMO the mods either need to have a seperate forum where anything goes, as suggeseted by Harley, or police them a bit better because outright abuse regarding someone's religious beliefs is not acceptable. 

Have a read through some of them and you will see what has got some posters backs up regarding this.

As to politics, I couldn't care one way or the other, and most posters while they may get a bit huffy, don't get down right nasty and abusive with each other.

Good points GC, I just added a little something. Not sure if you had noticed but at least one of those threads I linked now looks nothing like it did when it was current. It almost appears civil now.
