So, that is what that funny sound is on my phone? 😮

How do you get it off?

it used to be by dialing 101 followed by

a pin.  that will give you access to the message

bank where you will have the option to listen to

the message, keep it or delete it.   the ring tone

will then go back to normal until you get a new

message in your message bank.

or to cancel message bank:

Az ring Telsra and ask them to remove it I think it costs you to retrieve messages from it.

so the different ring tone simply means you have

unanswered messages in telstra message bank.

no, those charges are included in paying for message

bank so you don't pay every time you retrieve a message.

i think you maybe be confusing that with the *10#  which

is a Call Return when someone doesn't leave a message

and you don't have a caller ID.

They sneak this message bank on if you change a plan or update, my son got the NBN and they added the message bank to his phone which cut out his own recorded message. You could be right with regard to the changed Tone Julia, because they asked me this very question when I asked them to remove it.

Freddie, your vinyl is turning into a bit of mystery, So do you think that maybe that particular franchiser has used some sort of inferior product?

you would think think Carpet Call would want to know and fix it straight away

what did it sound like?

If you're getting a dial tone that sounds different from your normal dial tone, it's likely to be one of the ones listed below.  Have a listen to see if it's what you're hearing on your home phone:

The Stutter Dial Tone (MP3, 52KB) is exactly what it sounds like - a dial tone with a 'stutter', or intermittent pulse. You get this dial tone when you have a new message on your MessageBank or Home Messages 101 service.  To remove this tone, you need to call your MessageBank or Home Messages 101 service to listen to your new messages.

The Facility Tone (MP3, 43KB) indicates that one of your phone features, such as Call Forward, is active.

The Congestion Tone (MP3, 47KB) indicates that the network is congested. Try calling again later.

The Call Waiting Tone (MP3, 36KB), when heard during a call, indicates that an incoming call is waiting.

If you're hearing a hissing noise over your dial tone and use ADSL, your ADSL line filter may not be fitted correctly. Find out how to determine if this problem is being caused by your ADSL equipment or the phone line.

Morning Deb, I have gone over every scenario it's either an inferior quality product or it hasn't been sealed or something along those lines, but whatever the problem is I simply want something done about it. I had planed further down the track to replace the loungeroom hall and 2 bedrooms with new flooring. I know who won't get to do that after the way Carpet Court have treated this issue.

When we search this product lots of information comes up.
