Yes, it does come across like that but there are other possibilities besides the parents. It's a tragedy whoever did it.

I don't know how reliable they are but channel 7 just said the police are getting ready to charge the mother.

I just heard that the mother is under police protection in hospital, as she has been arrested for the murders....

Too hard to imagine what possessed her to kill her own babies.  

So sad for so many people, this Christmas.

I also feel for the parents of the other child. I have not heard any mention of them.

Blessed are the cracked, for they are the ones who let in the light.

She was a niece of the mother.

This community will fare better than others after such a tragedy, because they consist of one big family, irrespective of whether they are related.  Other Australians could learn from them about this encompassing of compassion.

We have seen this recently when 11 people, including 8 children, perished in a house fire in Brisbane three years ago.

Has there been any mention of the Father of the children?
